Aquilaia - Montecucco Rosso D.O.C.
“Vigna di Sotto”, a hillside vineyard on the s.w side of the estate, produces this fine, elegant and fruity wine. Eventhough it’s ready to drink it has a long ageing potential. The length of barrel ageing and bottle rest enhance it’s bouquet and fineness. Aquilaia is a symbol of the strong bond between wine and the territory of Monticello. It’s stength is in it’s typicity. good body and accompanies a variety of foods.
grape variety - sangiovese 100% yield per hectare - 6 tons ageing - 6 months in barrel; 4 months bottle rest harvest - strictly by hand; second half of October colour - ruby red, limpid bouquet - intense, fresh fruit with hints of sligtly dried ripe fruit flavour - soft, full-bodied and quite tannic food pairings - traditional first courses,red meats,sliced meats and salami, fresh and medium aged cheeses. serving temperature 18/20°c
